So after my exciting news about the seminar courses, I must say I was on a high. Then I get my 2008/ 2009 property tax bill in the mail from the City. Well, blow me down the damn bill has doubled and of course my current escrow will not cover it so I can expect my mortgage payments to go up at least $70 a month. What are the chances?
But again here is another high!!! I was accepted in the Ed.D program...
I have got to find a weekend job. My schedule this fall is going to be crazy but I love going to school and teaching so I will make it work. I need a part time job that I can work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I have already applied to grocery stores, etc. in my area and I have no takers. I posted a listing on Craigslist and I have no takers.
Any suggestions??? I said McDonald's but everyone thought it was the worst idea ever, but I am thinking that it might be my only choice!!!!

People who say it's the worst idea ever, have never understood the importance of a dollar
It's a fricking job. It pays. Who cares whether it has a stigma?
Try retail outlets if they're more your style, or other fastfood places other than Mickey Ds
Good luck!!!
If you need a weekend job NOW, there is no shame in taking one at McDonalds and continue the search until a "better" part time job becomes available to you.
At the end of the day, you need more income, so you have to do what you can to make that happen. So what if you have to take a job that isn't your dream job? All of this is just while you are making your dreams come true. No shame in that at all!
(If you have ever thought of bartending, you can make quite a bit more than minimum wage. Just something to consider)
Working in fast food will definitely give you a job right now. But I say work in retail too. A lot of places in the mall will be hiring soon for the holiday season. Waiting tables in a restaurant will bring in more money than anything. If you work just the weekend, you could make well over $300. Plus, you get to meet a lot of people!
Hey there's nothing wrong with working in McDonalds for a while. Heck, it's money! I thought about working in Stewarts - it's a convenience store often attached to gas stations since they always seem to be hiring around me.
In the past I've called up former employers and asked them if they had any part time work. Not sure what your former gigs were like but one summer I cleaned boats for a couple of days just to make some extra cash this way.
There's also babysitting.
Good luck!
Maybe you need a man in your life!! start dating and get married that will help bring in some more dough!!
